Notes, announcements, this and that.

Hello dear friends….

Go on, relax… and enjoy my new web home. Here you’ll find relics from my life in the rock -n- roll trenches. Listen to Mondo perform some of his songs, find out about shows past and present, rummage though gallery of sights and snaps or read my occasional scribblings. There’s much to share.

Mondo on Presidents Day

On this Presidents Day, I am quite hopeful that a hip, new broom will sweep away the toxic legacy of mad King George and restore a bit of lustre to those noble ideals laying trampled underfoot…

Mondo & The Speaker

Autumnal Greetings, my friends!

I have seen the Speaker and it is large. A good thing– as I have three hours in which to plumb its mystery and entertain patrons of the arts and lovers of rock ‘n roll.

So, come! Thursday, October 23rd will be a lovely autumn evening in which to amble down to the Massachusetts College of Art and catch Mondo perform at the Speaker Project from 6pm to 9pm. Admission is free!

We have much to speak about!

Be Seeing You!

Greetings from the Mondosphere

It seems like an epoch since you last heard from Mondo but fear not, he is alive and well and thriving in alternative dimensions where rehearsal space is plentiful and guitars possess wondrous powers.

Lately I’ve enjoyed jamming in the Caledon Astrotorium in Caledon Eyre where I’m reworking ideas for my longtime endeavor “Precession of the Equinoxes,” a major song cycle, concept album and possible game franchise.

So what else is new? Well, passing time unencumbered by Newtonian physics did indeed whet my appetite for alternatives to today’s formulae of throwaway music– so much so that I accepted an invitation to participate in a performance art installation entitled “The Speaker Project” by Chicago-based artist Juan Angel Chávez, which will run at the MassArt’s Stephen D. Paine Gallery from September 22 — November 22, 2008 with a special interactive one-night only appearance by Mondo on October 23 at 6:00pm.

It should be a most rare and excellent jam session wherein we’ll see how this old art-rocker fares when stretched over a new and different frame. In addition, I’ll perform an acoustic set of those favourite old rock ‘n roll obscurities, each of which should tell at least a thousand words, especially as the speaker in this project is very large.

Be Seeing You!
